This glossary is not an exhaustive list, however it does contain the majority of terms used in the composites industry and as part of the management of our website, it is updated on a continual basis.

jackstrawing
A visual effect of glass fibre turning white in a cured laminate. This usually does not effect the strength of a laminate, but could be an indication of materials incompatibility.
jig
Any fixture for holding parts in position, while joining them together or to maintain their shape.
